The RS2 spacetime is a portion of five-dimensional anti-de Sitter space truncated by the brane at finite radius. Because the AdS/CFT correspondence relates gravity in anti-de Sitter space to a boundary conformal field theory, and because truncating the space at finite radius corresponds to an ultraviolet cutoff in that field theory, the bulk description translates into a four-dimensional cutoff CFT; and given that four-dimensional Newtonian gravity is recovered on the brane at long distances, the dual theory must also contain dynamical four-dimensional gravity, arising from the induced boundary terms at the cutoff surface.
Because the leading correction to Newton's law computed classically in the five-dimensional bulk matches the one-loop graviton correction from conformal field theory matter in four dimensions, the two descriptions agree on a nontrivial subleading observable, which is what the proposed duality predicts.
