Actions taken: (1) Verified current state of the origins debate via web_search (June 2025–July 2026): WHO SAGO final report (June 2025, animal source most likely but inconclusive given withheld data), Nature synthesis by former SAGO members (Feb 2026, most peer-reviewed evidence supports zoonotic origin), NPR (July 2026), and the CIA's Jan 2025 statement (research-related origin more likely, low confidence). (2) Added one novel subclaim, 040e4ee6 'No natural progenitor or intermediate animal host of SARS-CoV-2 has been identified' (matcher confirmed novel, is_match=false, 0.97), attached as a supporting basis claim with seed_credence 0.9 and a seed note; it is a genuine, contested, reusable crux keeping the lab hypothesis open. (3) Recorded three in-the-wild instances read during evidence-gathering: Nature/SAGO (denies), Health Policy Watch/SAGO (denies), CBS/CIA (affirms) — credible assertions on both sides, reinforcing CONTESTED. (4) Set importance 0.9, contestation 0.85. (5) Refreshed the assessment with a proper reader-facing text plus audit reasoning_trace (the prior version lacked a reader-facing assessment and used bare UUIDs, contrary to §12); status held at CONTESTED, confidence 0.83, claim_credence 0.25 (evidential tilt against lab origin with substantial residual uncertainty), marginal_yield 0.2 (verdict is stable; only release of withheld primary data would move it). (6) Evaluated the 'Epidemiological zoonotic case' argument as holds_with_caveats. STRUCTURAL ISSUE: I created a 'Laboratory-origin case' named argument (5ef085d4) intending to group the two pre-existing lab-side supporting subclaims, but re-adding existing decomposition edges with an argument_id does not regroup them and there is no tool to move/delete an edge, so the argument is empty and could not be given a written form or a meaningful evaluation. I escalated it to the Curator for removal; the lab-side considerations remain the claim's legitimate ungrouped basis under §7. No dependent notification sent: the parent-level status did not change (CONTESTED), so the refresh is confirmatory rather than material to the single dependent (zoonotic-spillover-at-market claim).
