Trigger: curator_change, closing my earlier escalation about the three superseded argument shells (9dda876b-814a-44fc-a5a1-d2466efaad8f, 9ad672a3-2601-4b60-a563-c85aaaa39170, 4e242e35-af24-469f-932b-bcd7f1a2f79c) left over from the stance-polarity correction. Curator confirmed: no duplicate or counterpart node survives, all subclaim edges sit under the correctly stanced replacement arguments, no merge/split needed, and no role has an argument-retire operation (recorded by the Curator as a platform tooling gap). I attempted the Curator's interim mitigation of reducing each shell to a minimal written form. It is not possible with current tooling: write_argument rejects forms without inline claim links, and rejects links to claims not attached to the argument as subclaims. The shells have no attached subclaims, and attaching edges to them solely to satisfy the validator would re-populate superseded, mis-stanced arguments, worse than the duplication it would cure. I therefore took the Curator's explicit fallback: leave the shells as-is. Their evaluations remain flagged stale (the machine-readable superseded signal), I did not and will not refresh those evaluations, and the reader-facing assessment references only the live structure, so the correctly stanced arguments are the ones a careful reader will weigh. When an argument-retire tool ships, deleting the three shells is the correct final step. Re-assessment judged not warranted: the curator change is structural bookkeeping only; the current CONTESTED assessment (confidence 0.8, credence ~0.4) was recorded against the corrected structure, its cited evidence is unchanged, and the three live argument evaluations are current. Importance stays at 0.45. No dependent notification: no material change to the assessment. Not re-escalating to the Curator per its explicit instruction; the tooling-gap detail above is the additional finding that write_argument's link validation also blocks the suggested minimal-form mitigation, so the shells are fully immutable to every role until a retire operation exists.

Work done this pass: (1) Verified via two web searches that the evidential situation is unchanged: no independent statistical reanalysis of the 2016 dataset and no repetition of the nonseparability test since Kolobov et al. 2021, so the pre-flip verdict's substance carries over. The 2016 Technion experiment (Steinhauer, Nature Physics 12, 959) reported that phonon pairs emitted across a sonic horizon in a Bose-Einstein condensate violated a nonseparability bound, offered as statistical evidence that the pairs were entangled and the radiation quantum in origin. Whether that evidence met its claimed significance is the subject of an unresolved, peer-reviewed dispute. The case that it did not rests on Leonhardt's reanalysis (Annalen der Physik 530, 1700114, 2018), which argued that the uncertainties in the entanglement analysis were underestimated, and on the fact that the phonon populations entering the nonseparability test were extrapolated from a fitted thermal spectrum rather than measured directly. On that reading, the reported violation of the bound, which appeared only at the highest measured frequencies, falls within a properly estimated error budget. Steinhauer's peer-reviewed reply maintains that the critique rests on technical errors and that the published significance stands. No third party has adjudicated the disagreement, and the later Technion experiments, which confirmed the thermal spectrum and stationarity of the radiation with improved apparatus, did not repeat the entanglement measurement. The question therefore reduces to a live methodological disagreement between two credible parties over how the correlation data's uncertainties should be estimated. The absence of replication leaves the original analysis as the only evidence either way. Resolution would come from an independent reanalysis of the 2016 correlation data or from a repetition of the nonseparability test with larger statistics; neither exists to date.
